LOCAL AREA:

Kilteel is a historic village boasting a Norman castle, the ruins of a 13th century Knights Hospitaller preceptory, the remains of an 8th century monastic settlement and a popular Inn dating back to the 19th century.

The Kilteel Inn, together with the adjacent community hall and church form the vibrant heart of the village. The “Le Cheile” farmer’s market, on the first Sunday of each month, is a great place to gather with the local community. A school bus takes the local primary school children to nearby Rathmore National School. Private busses also serve some of the local secondary schools.

This is horse county with local stables, equestrian centres, supply stores and studs as well as the famous Punchestown Race Course and Goffs thoroughbred sales centre.

There is an excellent range of golf courses with Killeen, Castlewarden, Beech Park and Craddockstown nearby and a short drive to the former Ryder Cup venue at the K Club. The local GAA club is based in Eadestown. There is shopping nearby in Kill, Rathcoole, Naas and Blessington.
